DuPont Advanced Printing (DuPont) has announced the installation of its 1,500th DuPont Cyrel FAST thermal flexographic plate processing system.

“Nearly 20 years ago DuPont revolutionized flexible packaging with the introduction of the first thermal flexographic plate and processing system, named FAST because of how quickly a plate could be processed and ready for press,” says Sam Ponzo, global business director, DuPont Advanced Printing. “Since that time, DuPont has been at the forefront of developing successive generations of equipment that provide better plate processing, higher reliability and even lower emissions. This 1,500th installation is testament to the quality and value our systems bring to printers and trade shops worldwide.”

The current generation of Cyrel FAST systems now have one of the most advanced emissions systems available, the company says, reducing VOCs by more than 98% versus solvent-based systems. This advancement generates emissions below most environmental regulations.

In addition to lower VOC emissions, the latest generation of DuPont Cyrel FAST thermal processors enable greater uptime, while also requiring lower maintenance and providing remote diagnostic capabilities not available on previous generations.
